BillMax customers have also been known to use BillMax for the sole purpose of billing usage data. The data is imported into the BillMax data using standard BillMax importing techniques. Then the data may be rated using a variety of algorithms:

• A flat rate applied to the amount of data.
• Stepped billing such that different rates for tiers of usage are specified.
• Stepped billing such that a fixed amount for tiers of usage are specified.
• Capability to specifiy different marginal rates for each tier (modelled after the U.S. income tax.)
