BillMax was not originally designed to be used for TELCO billing. However, many customers use BillMax for TELCO billing due to the cost of traditional TELCO packages.

BillMax does not natively support multiple taxes and fees related to a single billing. As a result, some work has to be done to make BillMax handle multiple taxes and fees. It may be that due to cost, this extra work is well worth it.

To use BillMax for TELCO billing, each billing and associated taxes and fees are all entered as charges to the end customer. The standard BillMax statement is then modified to display correctly to the end customer. As BillMax uses a well known database and open database schema, importing TELCO data for billing and display purposes is readily accomplished.

In addition, if the switches are capable, BillMax may use its standard tie between subscriber financial status and granting or denying access to manage a TELCO customer base.

If needed, CDR records may be imported and stored in the BillMax database a billing done off the CDR records.
